The BBC visited Lordship Recreation ground and made a fantastic programme showing the transformation this greenspace has made. From a neglected no-go zone it is now the heart of this North London community.
8 minute short film – BBC Countryfile, 2018.
in Haringey, North London, the community and Council have worked hard together to achieve the renaissance of Tottenham’s formerly run-down district park, boosted by lottery funding. In 2018, a time of chronic underfunding of public services, Lordship Rec is a testament to what can be achieved throughout the UK’s 27,000 parks if there’s proper Government investment, on-site staffing and community empowerment.
The Friends of Lordship Rec are part of a growing movement of over 6,000 such local groups taking action and speaking up for the UK’s vital green spaces. Please join your local Friends of park group, or if there isn’t one then help create one!
